Macro Photography

So here is the difference between a good digital camera and a cheap digital camera. The first picture is one I took last year using my brother-in-law's camera. I was helping them move into their new home and was in charge of taking before and after pictures. I took this picture of a snake that had moved into their trash can. The other pictures are with my cheap digital camera. I learned my camera does not take clear, crisp pictures close up.

Hi...these are good shots.

I used a flashlight with my scanner.

What kind of camera is it? Do you still have the manual? Most digi cams have to be set to work in macro mode....

It is a Hewlett Packard camera. It's called an HP Photosmart 435 camera and I have read the book over and over and there's nothing about macro settings in it that I can see. I tried doing it as a zoom and up close but I didn't have much luck with either.
