In my first attempt at this assignment I didn't invert just pasted in my mirrored images. I've inverted them and here are the results.

Digital Photography MOD 2

Congratulations To All,

I had a chance to review all our posting to the blog today and it's amazing to see the improvement from beginning to end. From the beach, to light & shadows, to macro, to portraits and finally our surreal creations, we should all be pround of our accomplishments. Thanks to all of you for your comments and sharing your work with me. I really enjoyed everyones work. I for one will never say a photo is just a photo. For one thing, I now realize just how difficult it is to get a great shot. I have to admit that luck plays a role in that you need to be at the right place at the right time but more importantly is being able to open your eyes. By opening our eyes we are able to see that special effect that results in a great photo. Each week we were challenged to open our eyes to a different photo enviornment and now each time I see a great photo I will looking to see what features made it great.

Thanks Jerry, for opening my eyes and Happy Holidays to All

The Power of Editing....

Hi All,

Digital editing tools like Picasa give us powerful means to improve our images... Take a look at the improvement to the portrait of Michell just below... There were problems of exposure and color balance due to the low light and mix of light sources as well as a fair bit of digital "noise" from the low light as well.... Converting to B and W to deal with the color issues and opening up the dark tones a bit makes this shot even better.

My family close up

Hey all! I have enjoyed this class. It has taught me a lot about my camera and pictures and angles. I have fun taking pictures! These are photos of nieces. They were happy to be in front of the camera. If people are still interested in hearing my music my myspace is (www.myspace.com/starakagingin ) you should be able to hear my music. This has been a great semester and I wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!!!

Portraits

Hey all, I was finally able to get my "portrait" pictures taken today. The subjects are two bearded collies, "Piper" and her son "Marley." It was an experience trying to get them to cooperate... next time I'll take Jerry's advice and stick to people... Anyway, enjoy!

The Hands Of Time

Catching Up!

Hi everyone, Just trying to catch up a bit. I reached my max on my fotothing account and I have alot to catch up on.... plus, I thought I'd share my latest!
Here's my favorite cousin Diare. I positioned him on top of my sofa. The light reflecting on him was from the Balcony. It's a pretty big sliding door so the light was perfect for me. I thought it would look good with the Yellow swirls painted on my wall. Not to much or to little., The first pick gave a little more light then the second one! I played with the blinds to get the fit. Hope you all enjoy. It was a little harder than I imagined . Something so simple as getting light was still hard! LOL I made it happen though.

I took these pics at Home Depot. I thought they were going to have plenty to chose from but apparently not. I love color so I tried to capture the most I could find.
