Colors After Sunset on West Haven Beach

As I was saying before I lost my posting, for the last two weeks my children and I have been sick. My youngest was hospitalized with pneumonia, and my eldest also caught it, but not hospitalized. After recovering from that, my mother ended up being hospitalized last weekend, which left me playing catch up, for this week. I went to West Haven Beach between 4:30 and 5:00 o’clock pm. I utilized what little lighting I had to take a few shots to post. I hope you enjoy them, I know they are not much, especially after seeing everyone’s pictures, but they are a little something.

Different rock formation

These are my favorites, they look blurry without the flash, but the colors are beautiful as the sun sets.

Macro Pics

These are photos I took this summer. A Dragon Fly, a bee on a Cosmo, A Purple Rose, A up close of an Amaryllis, and a Freeon burn, that I wish I had taken a picture before the doctor debrided the blister. I will try to play with a scanner and see what I can create.

Here's a pic from my mini vacation "South Beach" of Miami. The temperature of the water was pretty cool and the sun was extremly tropical. The waves were pretty consistant, I drove my rented Jet Ski -traveling opposite of them and they felt equivilent to ramp (s). I love this Beach!!!!!!!

Lighthouse Point Park

These photos were taken at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven. The last photo is of the carousel. I wish I could have gotten inside for some great photos, but unfortunately they keep it closed.

I had a bad week. I got to the beach just as the sun was going down. I'm posting two without the flash that didn't turn out that good and one with the flash, just for the heck of it. I know Jerry...turn that flash off. Hopefully I'll have a better week next week.

Oops

I forgot to rotate one of my pictures below.

Fotothing

Since I can get only five pics in a day, I will post them all the next three or so days. I have some really good stuff that isn't in our blog. Eh, I'm going to post some right now for the heck of it.

Berries

I got dirt and wet to get this one. My daughter though it was hilarious. I like when a shot start up close and in your face then pans out as far as it can go.

I'll start this off with a shot were the water is used as just a backdrop. I really found that everything but the water was catching my eye today so I have additional shots posted in fotothing. I got in as close as possible for every shot looking for shade, light, color and movement.

These few shots are of my helper for the day. We made a nice walk out of it.

These two(top and bottom) are interesting in that you can't quite tell what is a reflection and what is physical. I really like these couple...they are both unaltered.

This here is a little island just off shore. The baitfish swarm to it bringing along the sporting fish so I frequent this spot often in the summer. I felt I had to include it. There is nice light behind it making the shot a decent one. It really has a look of fall for me.

A few reeds that still hadn't been taken by the cool weather. They contrasted nicely against the water behind and below them.

Since I had so many shots of growth around the water, I felt I needed one of just the water itself. I feel like the water on it's own is a nice shot...lots of movement.

The Beach

These are some of my shots from Hammonasset Beach in Madison. I do have more coming as my sister allowed me to use her "expensive" Kodak digital camera along with my "inexpensive" Hewlett-Packard camera. I just haven't figured out how to download them yet!! I hit different sections of the beach - Meigs Point, East Beach and West Beach. The saddest thing I saw was "foam" all over the beach. They are on the other camera so stay tuned.
